Episode 74 Scottevest Peformance T-Shirt review

Author: admin  |  Category: iPod Accessories

Episode 74 we review the Performance T-Shirt from ScotteVest (SeV) in this video episode. This is my first time reviewing a piece of Technology enabled clothing (TEC) as promoted by Scottevest. I was very surprised when the shirt arrived, it was well made, descrete and very comfortable to wear. I am reviewing the 1 pocket version in Black material, there is also a 3 pocket version of this shirt available in several colors. The pocket was located up by my left shoulder and offers a zipper to secure in any items. The pocket has ample room for ipods, mp3 players and smartphones. I even use it to stash some cash when I’m out and dont want to carry a wallet.  What is called a personal area network amounts to a design that allows you to feed the headphone cable through an opening on the inside of the shirt pocket and allows you to bring the cable up and out the neck opening. This allows for easy access and you do not have the wires all over the place. It is really a clean look when used.

The shirt is made from a 3M maperial which repels moisture and is really a pleasure to wear. I found the shirt great for using while working out, hicking and even came in handy while clearing snow. It puts your phone up close by you so that its easy to hear it when ringing and MP3 player controls are easy to access also.

Manufacturer Description:

The SeV Performance T-Shirt is now available in 2 styles: the original, 1 pocket style in black and the new, 3 pocket style in black, red, blue and white. This amazing t-shirt allows you to control your personal electronic devices through the fabric and the pockets are large enough to hold a 60 gig iPod™.

The t-shirts are all made of a performance fabric, designed to draw moisture away from your body, keeping you drier, cooler and more comfortable. It is perfect for athletics, yet stylish enough to wear around town. In addition to moisture management, most stains wash out with normal home laundering, the fabric remains soft and breathable and colors stay brighter.

We’ve maintained the design elements that have made the original SeV T-Shirt so popular. Unlike t-shirts that just have a pocket sewn on the outside that will stretch and pull, this t-shirt is designed to enable you to place a device in the chest pocket and NOT have it pull on your neck or stretch your shirt. The new style has 2 additional pockets hidden in the side seam-1 on the front and 1 on the back of the shirt, located between your waist and hips. These additional pockets are perfect for carrying your wallet, phone, mints-just about anything! They are also connected to the PAN.

Our Weight Weight Management System™ has been incorporated to provide you with the ultimate in comfort and yet the versatility of being able to carry your devices. The chest pocket will hold most commonly used devices, such Apple’s Nano® and iPod® without affecting the neckline. For added comfort, the pockets are lined with special fabric, designed to hold its shape and prevent chafing.

The SeV T-Shirt features the patented Personal Area Network (PAN) and a single ear loop. There is a metal zipper pull with a subtle SeV logo identifying you as a truly connected person!

Episode 64 Marware iPod car charger Video Review

Author: admin  |  Category: iPod Accessories

Episode 64 we review the iPod car charger Marware. There are countless auto chargers available for iPods available on the market currently. Marware deserves some credit for bring a new idea to this stale product sector. They have designed a nice looking black car charger for iPods. The charger is shaped with a bubble that allows for easier gripping and a red LED on the top shows that the unit is getting power.

The main selling feature on this charger is the retractable cable. It extends from a few inches out to around 3 feet long. This is great because you can get the amount of cable that you need in your car without having the wires wrapped around everything. I have used alot of chargers over the iPod generations and this one is by far my favorite, it really cleans up the cord mess.

Episode 62 - Lumi iPod safety flasher light review

Author: admin  |  Category: iPod Accessories

Episode 62 we review the Safety flasher for iPods from Lumi Ventures. The Lumi flasher is a  flashlight and safety flasher built  for use with most iPod models. The flasher connects to the docking connector of the iPod. The light uses battery power from the iPod and does not require seperate batteries. This light offers 6 flashing modes and a flashlight mode. The LED lights are bright and I was suprised by the amount of light that was put out. There are both red and clear LED’s in the device and when blinking you  will be seen out on the road. I used my in combination with an iPod armband for safety while biking and running.  The Lumi is available in two colors (white or black).

Episode 55 - iJet Wireless RF remote for iPod review

Author: admin  |  Category: iPod Accessories

Episode 55 we review the iJet Wireless RF remote control.  To start with a statement to sum up this product, it’s by far the best remote control for iPods that I have ever used. The range for the remote is said to be 150 feet and from my testing it does come very close to this range. The iJet uses RF technology which is radio frequeny versus other remotes that use infra-red light technology. The infra-red remotes require line of sight and have a much shorter range. The RF signals will penetrate through most home walls to enable you to use the remote in the kitchen while your iPod might be in the bedroom. The remote is available in a white or black version to match current iPods.  I love the fact the the received part that connects to the iPod has a docking port pass-thru connector. This feature allows me to use the remote and a car charger at the same time, or a FM transmitter. The remote is water resistant and has a ring to attach to your key chain if you wish. This version of the iJet is designed to work with the full size iPods, but will also work with the Nano and iPod mini.

Episode 48 - XtremeMac Microblast iPod nano portable speakers review

Author: admin  |  Category: iPod Accessories, iPod Speakers

Episode 48 we review the Microblas iPod nano speakers from Xtrememac. The Microblast is an ultra portable iPod speaker system. It would be the mini version of the 80’s boom box, but better sound in a way smaller package. That’s just what the Microblast delivers on, is a very small package. I was surprised after using many other portable speakers, just how small this unit was. Also to my delight was the good sound it produced. The Microblast in my opinion is a great solution for travelers or users who want an iPod speakers system but just don’t have the room to carry a larger package. This unit is well designed with a clear front cover that doubles as the desk stand. The Microblast will run on 4 AA batteries or the included power adapter. The system does no have a subwoofer but does a good job a putting out good clean sound.  The Micro blast also is a great looking speaker system. I would recommend this speaker to anyone looking for a small well designed system.

Episode 45 - iJet wireless remote for iPod Nano Review

Author: admin  |  Category: iPod Accessories

Episode 45 we review the iJet iPod Nano wireless remote control in this video segment. This iJet builds on the successful technology of the preivous model. The remote is still RF based which offers a range of 100′. I like the RF remotes more than IR or Infared remotes since they require line of site for use and offer a much short range of use. The iJet nano is a cradle style devices that houses and protects the Nano while providing the remote option. The case part covers the screen and leaves the click wheel open. There is a docking port pass-thru connection which I like. This will allow you to still use other accessories and cables while using the remote. You may use it in the car with a charger/FM transmitter combo cable and still get the remote access that you want. There are versions of this case available in Black and White. A similar model will become available soon that will also encompass a FM transmitter in the same device. This will combine two very popular accessories into one item.

The Boxwave retractable is designed to allow you to connec your iPod to a Stereo for Audio input.  This creates a nice option to bring along a Audio cable not have take up much room or deal with tangled cables.  The case and cable are available in iPod white to match. The RCA mini sync will work with the iPod, iPod Photo, iPod nano and iPod Video units. Author: admin  |  Category: iPod Accessories

Episode 20 we review the Mini Sync AV from Boxwave in this video segment. The Boxwave retractable is designed to allow you to connec your iPod to a TV or Stereo for Audio and Video use. The cable is a retractable design that allows the cable to adjust from 5″ to 45″ in length. This creates a nice option to bring along a AV cable not have take up much room or deal with tangled cables. The cable connections are gold plated to reduce signal loss. The case and cable are available in iPod white to match. The AV mini sync will work with the iPod Photo, iPod nano and iPod Video units. It can be used with the headphone port or the line out from a dock connection. This is a nice way to show others pictures and videos that you might have stored on that little white beauty. This cable was designed for iPods so the AV part of the cables match up properly. Others have used standard RCA to mini cables and reported that the connections must be shuffled around to get the signal(video send out on red cable not yellow).

Episode 18 - ezGear Earpod Headphone & earbud oragnizer protector Review

Author: admin  |  Category: Earbuds, iPod Accessories

Episode 18 we review the Earpod from ezGear in this video segment. The Earpod is available in white plastic. The case was designed to organize, protect and keep your earbuds from getting all tangled up. I was initially suprised on how well these worked. It is a very simple idea that was executed well. The Earpod is well constructed and will do exactly what is advertised. There is a removable belt clip included with the case. The belt clip allows you to clip it to your belt or on your back pack. The inside of the case has a nice soft felt lining on the bottom of the case.  The Earpod was designed to work with Apple’s earbuds, but there are sure to be other 3rd party earphones that would fit into the Earbud. While reviewing this unit we found another use for it. I was able to use it to store my iPod USB sync cable, it’s a tight fit but it stores in there and that cable is always getting tied into knots while in my backpack.

Episode 12 - Sendstation pocket dock review

Author: admin  |  Category: iPod Accessories

Episode 12 we review the Pocket Dock from Sendstation in this video segment. The Pocketdock is available in 4 versions. There is a firewire only, firewire & usb version, usb/audio out and a firewire/audio out version. The Pocket docks are designed to allow you to use standard USB and Firewire cables with your iPod. These are just a small connector that converts the Apple dock connection into standard ports. So you do not have to purchase the special cables from Apple or another vendor. Pocketdocks free you up to use your existing cables, older ipod cables or if you travel just bring this along and borrow someone’s cable along the way. The audio out feature on the two models offers the line level output from the iPod. This is the best way to take the audio signal from your iPod and send it to another Stereo with the least amount of distortion. Sendstation
