Episode 53 we review the Pacific Design iPod nano case. These cases are fun leather like cases designed for users that like colors. Available is 4 two tone color combinations. The cases are made from soft polyurethane that looks and feels like real leather. The case is a flip front style case that uses a magnetic closure. I like this case because they were pretty thin for this type of case, some leather cases can add bulk to the iPod when using. There is a belt clip on the case that snaps into place and is made from the same material. The clip design was different because they did not use the typical bulky plastic clip that many other cases use. Pacific Design creates cases for other iPod models, laptops, PSP and PDA’s.

Episode 51 we review the Tuffwrap accent case from Xtrememac. The TuffWrap accent set of cases for iPod video offer a fresh look to the over saturated silicone case market. These are not a new item but we have just not had time to review them. The case is made from silicone but is set apart from others with its color and design options. There are 6 color option available. You should be able to find a color no matter what your favorites are. The case is accented with raised surfaces on the front and back that are set off with different colors from the base case. The sides of the case are ribbed to reduce the chance of the case slipping while in your hands. The Tuffwrap offers a removable hard plastic screen protector and also includes a thin film cover for the clickwheel. The case does not offer a belt clip, but this is not a problem for many users. I definitely like these cases would use them over most other silicone cases currently available.

Episode 50 we review the Shieldz iPod shuffle case from Xtrememac.  The shieldz series of cases are a colorful selection that highlights movie characters and some sporting teams. They are great if you love a certain franchise or character. Simple design allows the case to clip over the front of the iPod shuffle and offer strong protection. The designs are very bright and look great. The case is over of the click wheel and back of the iPod. The open back design allows for the iPod to slide into the case with ease. The front of the case allows for the LED status light to shine through. The case allows for the lanyard to still be used. I think that these cases totally rock and my kids love them. They are priced right for this type of licensed merchandise and Xtrememac has been out front of other case vendors with creating these types of products.

Episode 41 we review the Otterbox iPod nano waterproof case. In case you have never heard of Otterbox before, they produce tough waterproof cases. These cases are available for many items like iPod, laptops, cigars and other gadgets. The cases are made from tough shatter proof plastic and is waterproof down to 3 feet. This makes for an excellent case for swimmers, fisherman or anybody that is around dust and water. I use mine when working in the wood shop, out in the yard and fishing. These activities are prone to dust and moisture. When my iPod is in the Otterbox I have no worries. The case has proved to be a tough and protective solution. I have buried it in dirt, used in water and even drug it on a brick walkway. The case barely shows any wear and tear.

The nano case includes a removable belt clip that also incorporates a headphone manager. This is a way to wind up the excess cable from your earbuds. A lanyard is included with the case and can be easily removed. There is also an option armband option for these cases. The armband attaches to the case on the belt clip mount. The case is total protected; there are no openings in the case. The clickwheel is still usable through a thin watertight membrane. You can use a set of your standard earbuds/headphones or if you are a swimmer you can use a set of waterproof ones. The case accepts the standard 1/8 headphone jack.

Episode 46 we review the Vaja cases iPod Nano case in this video segment. The Nano iVod case fits all available iPod Nano models. The i-volution series of cases are available in a large selection of custom colors, including multiple colors and special edition cases. These cases are made from awesome leather from . The design of the case is a sleeve style in which the iPod slides into the case from the top. The screen is protected by a built in clear screen protector. There are several belt clips options available that are based on the Rivet series of clips. The clickwheel is open on the case for easy access, an optional cover is available. The top of the case is open and allows access to the hold switch. An opening on the bottom of the case allows for access to the headphone port.

The interior of the case was embelshed with the vaja logo and just presents a high quality look. I know that these cases are on the high side of the price range, but they are totaly worth it. The fit is excellent and the look and build are second to none. The case is a bit on the tight side when trying to remove the iPod from the case, but may loosen up with more use. You can also customize the case with your name or a logo.

Episode 47 we review the Relo and Relo2 case system from Mophie. The relo case series is innovative live of cases with built in accessories that work with a base case as the switchable component. There will be options that include wireless remotes, FM transmitters, batteries and other items. The relo2 is an add on piece to the base case that offers a headphone splitter. It provides additional protection to the base case and offers two gold plated headphone ports. If you have a case you like and all you want is a headphone splitter than the relo2 is probably two pricey for what you need. But if you want a nice case with the option to have a splitter built in than the Relo system is a nice option. I am really looking forward to being able to test the other case systems when they are released. You also have the option of mixing up the colors between the relo and relo2 cases when ordering. This can give you a truly personal look to your iPod protection.

There are seperate sizes for the 30gb and 60gb iPod video players. Each case has a removable hard plastic screen protector. The cases have a textured back that aids in gripping of the case. The bottom portion of the case flips open to allow you to dock the iPod while still in the case. There are openings on the top for headphones and the hold switch. The clickwheel is open for easy access.

You have many customization options available to you when ordering one of these cases. You are able to choose case color, accept band color and clickwheel cover design. With these choices there are hundreds of options available to customers. The case is made from silicone and offers a good looking case with raised designs. There are openings at the top for hold switch and headphone port. The bottom of the case has an opening for the docking port. You can access the clickwheel through the opening in the case and use the included film type protection to shield from scratches and dust. A plastic belt clip is included with the case that attaches to the case with a removable screw in post.

Episode 43 we review the iPod Video Case (5G) from Rhino Skin in this video segment. Rhino skin’s hard case for the iPod Video is a good looking mixture of metal and plastic. The front of the case is made from clear hard plastic. The screen is protected by the plastic front; there is an opening for the click wheel. This makes the click wheel easy to access and use, but also leaves it exposed to the elements. The back of the case is made from a very tough aluminum. It’s one of the tougher metal cases that I have used. A plastic removable belt clip is included with the case. The clip attaches to the case with a screw in post that is removable for a flat surface. For those of you lanyard users the case also includes a nice looking lanyard that connects to the back of the case just above the belt clip. Something that I like about this case was the way the iPod fits into the case; it is designed as a sleeve style case. This means the case does not open up and the iPod slides into the case from the top. With this design you get a very nice fit and no worries about the case flopping open if you are a careless user. Two small rubber pads on the sides of the case provide a non-slip gripping surface.

You want good protection and ease of use in a workout case. The Sportsuit delivers on both of these requirements. The iPod is well protected on all sides, the only opening is for the headphone port. The bottom of the case has a flap that is tucked back into the case covering the bottom once you have slid the iPod in the case. The hold switch is covered but marked on the case for easy sliding access.
