The case provides screen protection with a thin clear covering built into the case. The click wheel is open and easy to use. The bottom of the case has an opening that allows for connection of cables. The top of the Kroo case has openings for the hold switch and headphone ports. You may carry thin items that would slip into the two slots such as money or credit cards. Case acts like a deskstand when the cover folds back and snaps to hold the iPod upright. Melrose case offers swivel belt clip.
